CREATIVE CONSUMPTION CASHEL: One of Ireland’s oldest towns is giving recycling a new lease of life

Repair, reuse and upcycling are going to be the three watchwords for all Cashel residents in October. As part of National Reuse Month, Environmental Group Voice are hoping to change the habits of the people of Cashel, Co Tipperary. Voice wants to encourage the people of the town to cut their consumption. The new drive called is called Creative Consumption Cashel.

Survey shows low concern for food waste

While Irish households are making efforts to save money by reducing their energy consumption, food waste is not a priority yet. However, in Ireland, over one million tonnes of food are wasted every year, namely around 80 kg per person. A recent survey commissioned by Sainsbury’s shows that only 3% of UK householders are concerned by wasting food.
