Trinity College Dublin conference to focus on environmental sustainability

Trinity’s Graduate Students’ Union will facilitate an international postgraduate research conference in Trinity College Dublin on May 5 – 6th 2017. Tickets are free and open to the public. The talks taking place on Saturday, May 6 have a strong environmental focus.
The theme of the conference is ‘Borders and Horizons’ with a dedicated interdisciplinary panel dealing with the conference subtheme ‘Environmental sustainability, advancements in technology and the human right to a sustainable environment’ brings together presenter’s research from a variety of disciplines; from law to environmental engineering. This session, chaired by Dr. Frank Ludlow, hopes to inform policy to effectively mitigate for the endemic global warming issues.

Friday, May 5th:
Thesis in 3: 1- 2.30 pm (venue: Innovation Academy, TCD)
Tours of Dublin: 3.30 – 4.45pm (departing from house 6 – advance sign up required)
Conference registration: 5pm (Knowledge Exchange, TBSI)
Conference Launch: 6pm (Tercentenary Hall, TBSI)
This will be followed by a discussion panel exploring future directions of postgraduate education and research. The panel includes Professor Jane Ohlmeyer (Chair of the Irish Research Council), Professor John Boland (Dean of Research TCD), Professor Neville Cox (Dean of Graduate Studies TCD) and Dr Graham Love (CEO of the Higher Education Authority in Ireland).
