Ireland’s only ecovillage, Cloughjordan in Tipperary, is to be the venue of an exciting workshop exploring the potential of a cutting-edge local currency technology.
The innovative workshop -‘Blockchain and Sustainable Communities: Potential and Pitfalls’- aims to explore the possible future applications of Blockchain technology – a digital, decentralised currency – in the development and coherence of sustainable communities.
The Convergence Festival, which this year explores the value of cooperatives in solving economic and social challenges, kicked off this week. Across the country events are being held where you can explore the methods and systems behind co-ops and the huge value they can have for society and the environment.
